The Davidov Core Select Advanced Cello is inspired by Antonio Stradivari’s celebrated 1712 “Davidov,” one of his renowned B-form cellos. Named for 19th-century Russian cellist Karl Davidov, the original instrument was later played by Jacqueline du Pré and Yo-Yo Ma.
This carefully crafted reproduction receives special attention during the arching and graduation of its plates, producing a brilliant, singing voice with excellent projection. Well-aged tonewoods give the instrument a vibrant and flexible response, allowing advancing cellists to explore orchestral, chamber, solo, and contemporary repertoire with confidence.
