The NS Design NXT Cello delivers exceptional tone, dynamic range and expressive versatility through its self-powered Polar™ Pickup System.
Special piezo crystals mounted beneath the bridge capture the full sound spectrum produced by the strings and body of the instrument. Because bowed and plucked playing generate vibration in different directions, a convenient side-mounted switch lets you optimize the pickup for either arco or pizzicato performance.
Select pizzicato mode for a focused, percussive response or arco mode for a smoother, more sustained sound. This flexible design gives cellists greater control over their tone and opens new creative possibilities for rehearsals, recordings and live performances.
