Available with four or five strings, the NS Design NXTa Active Series Cello expands the creative possibilities available to serious cellists. Crafted in the Czech Republic by the makers of the renowned CR Series, it combines meticulous workmanship, expressive performance and exceptional value.
Natural, Responsive Tone
The self-powered NS Design Polar™ Pickup System uses special piezo crystals mounted beneath the bridge to capture the full tonal spectrum produced by the strings and body.
Because arco and pizzicato playing generate vibration in different directions, a convenient side-mounted switch lets you optimize the pickup’s sensitivity for either technique. Choose a focused, percussive response for pizzicato or a smooth, sustained response for bowed performance.
Dual-Mode Output
The NXTa’s dual-mode output electronics provide outstanding flexibility for rehearsals, recording and live performance.
In active mode, simply connect the instrument to an AC outlet with the included charger for 60 seconds. This powers the capacitor-driven active circuit for up to 16 hours. The cello can then connect directly to low- or high-impedance equipment without requiring a direct box.
The active circuit preserves the instrument’s complete frequency range, keeping every note clear, full and powerful—even when using extra-long cables.
