Based around a cushty 16″ viola sequence scale, key options that come with this instrument range from the Polar Pickup System utilizing the new double mode signal output, patented accuracy tuning system, sleek, ergonomic design, and comparatively lightweight. Available with either a flame maple Sunburst or Satin Black finish, the NXTa features a maple human body, the comfortable Custom Shoulder sleep, and an adjustable-height connection. Main, the NXTa Viola provides designers excellent amplified and recorded performance quality, and extraordinary freedom of expression. The Polar Pickup System is driven directly by the vibration of strings, allowing it to produce the full spectral range of sound with power and quality. (in comparison, an acoustic viola’s amplified performance is greatly influenced by the resonant capabilities of body associated with the instrument.) The NXTa setup with F-C-G-D, Octave, and/or G-D-A-E strings, delivers the whole range with complete richness of tone. A convenient switch next to the amount and tone controls enables selection between heightened Arco and Pizzicato pickup sensitiveness, expanding the tonal palette even further, virtually without any wolf tones.
