Driven directly by string vibration, the Polar™ Pickup System captures the instrument’s full frequency range with exceptional power, clarity and tonal richness. Unlike an amplified acoustic viola, its sound is not limited by the body’s resonant characteristics.

A convenient switch beside the volume and tone controls optimizes pickup sensitivity for either playing style:

• Arco mode delivers a smooth, sustained bowed response.
• Pizzicato mode produces a focused, percussive plucked response.

This expanded tonal versatility provides excellent amplified and recorded sound with virtually no wolf tones.
